The Lincoln County Fair is proud to announce Sonny and Linda Ramsour as the 2025 Friend of the Fair!
The longevity of the Lincoln County Fair could not be possible without the countless volunteers that make it happen. Each year the Fair Board names a “Friend of the Fair” acknowledging the contributions of time and talent. It is our honor to name Sonny and Linda Ramsour as the 2025 Friend of the Fair!
Sonny and Linda started volunteering at the fair somewhere in the early to mid 1980’s. Most of their volunteer work was in the food stand, which was the original cattle barn that was moved from Troy City Park to the now Fairgrounds. In 1996 they were asked to take over the operation of the food stand and the rest is history. In 1999 they moved into the newly constructed food stand and both agreed it was a vast improvement. Sonny and Linda thought it was a good time to get their kids and grandkids involved. Their kids filled in wherever they were needed. At that time, their grandkids were between 3 and 5 years old and were very excited to help. Now their great grand kids are involved and they get to do those jobs too.
Sonny and Linda have seen many changes in their years at the fair. They said that the one constant has been the wonderful volunteers that have helped them run a successful food stand. Without them, and their core group, they could not have made it work. Sonny and Linda both said the food stand can be pretty hectic at times, but it is something they enjoy doing and hope to stay involved in as long as they are able.
From the Lincoln County Fair Board, a heartfelt thank you to Sonny and Linda Ramsour for all that you have done for the fair and continue to do!
